Dust to Dust
Description
An account of the resource
A newspaper clipping from the New York motion picture trade newspaper, 'Greater Amusements.'
In 1938 Kroger Babb created a nationwide sensation with the release of the film, "Dust to Dust". The film was one in a series of exploitation films produced and promoted by Babb as 'educational'. "Dust to Dust," also known by the title, "Child Bride," created such a buzz because of it's fourteen year old featured cast member who appeared nude in the movie.
This clipping, taken out of the first and only regional motion picture trade newspaper from New York, Greater Amusements, shows the continued public frenzy generated from the controversial film almost five years later in 1943. It shows the lineup from previous openings in cities across America, creating hype for the continuation of the tour in the upper Midwest states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and the Dakotas.
